In this article, you'll read how to automatically give customers access to Huddle after an order or form submission. With the direct integration between Plug&Pay and Huddle, you can, among other things:
Create a user in Huddle after an order has been placed
Create a user in Huddle after a form has been submitted
Assign an access level to users in Huddle
Does your customer already have a Huddle account? They'll automatically be given access to your environment along with the chosen access level, without needing a second account.

Granting access after a product purchase
Once the integration with Huddle is set up, you configure it at the product level, because you want to control which access each product grants inside your Huddle environment. The integration works with rules: with a rule on the product, you decide what happens in Huddle when someone buys it.
In your product settings, go to the Rules tab and click Add rule.
Give your rule a name and select a trigger.
For a one-off payment, you can choose from two triggers:
Invoice created: the rule runs as soon as an order is created.
Order paid: the rule runs as soon as an order is paid. This matters for one-click upsells and other direct debits, which are paid after the order has been created.
For a subscription, you can choose from three additional triggers:
Subscription cancelled: the rule runs as soon as the subscription is cancelled. The subscription stays active until it expires on the next direct debit date.
Subscription ended: the rule runs when the subscription switches from active to inactive or ended.
Subscription started: the rule runs when the subscription becomes active.
Under Action, choose Huddle. You can then select one or more access levels from all the levels you've created in your Huddle, and save them. Optionally enable Only add Huddle user if you don't want to assign an access level to the user.
Access levels are created in Huddle. No access levels yet?
Selling a subscription or instalment? An extra option then appears that runs the rule on every direct debit. Useful if you work with temporary access levels in Huddle.
After saving, you'll see in the overview which actions are triggered when someone buys the product. In the example below, the Membership Gold access level is added as soon as an invoice is created, and removed again as soon as the subscription ends.
That's all you need to do. As soon as your customer buys this product, a user is created in Huddle and your customer automatically receives the welcome email with their login details.
❗️Please note: the Huddle welcome email is only sent to new users. If your customer already has a Huddle account, this email isn't resent. No email is sent when a new access level is assigned either.
Granting access after a form submission
Alongside products, you can also connect a form to Huddle. With a rule on the form, you decide what happens in Huddle when someone submits it. Use this when you want to give free access to your Huddle environment.
Open your form in Plug&Pay and go to the Rules tab.
Click Add rule, give the rule a name and choose Form submitted as the trigger.
Under Action, choose Huddle. Just like with products, you can select one or more access levels and save them. Optionally enable Only add Huddle user if you don't want to assign an access level to the user.
After saving, you'll see in the overview which actions are triggered when someone submits the form. In the example below, only a user is added to Huddle.
💡Tip: choose Only add Huddle user to give away free access to your Huddle.
That's all you need to do. As soon as your customer submits the form, a user is created in Huddle and they automatically receive the welcome email.
Removing access from a user
Are you selling a subscription or membership with access levels? You'll also want to remove those levels once the subscription is cancelled. You can read how to remove access automatically in the article below. 👇
